One-Stop Counter

Apply for an authorisation to work and reside in Belgium

Using the One-Stop Counter, an employer can apply for a Belgian work authorisation for a non-European (outside the EEA + Switzerland) employee. The request can also be submitted by an authorised representative of the employer.

In our One-Stop Counter, you can also link your application for a work authorisation and the associated residence permit in one request for a single permit.

Under certain conditions, a foreign employee can also use the One-Stop Counter to apply for a permanent single permit.

Work authorisation

Do you want to employ a non-European employee (outside the EEA + Switzerland) in Belgium to

  • either work in Belgium for a maximum period of 90 days,
  • or work in Belgium as a cross-border worker,
  • or work as a teleworker outside Belgium?

Use the One-Stop Counter to apply for a work authorisation from the competent region or the competent German-speaking community. Once the work authorisation has been granted, your employee may start work. This work authorisation does not entitle your employee to reside in Belgium.
